What it does
Calendar Alarm is an Android alarm clock for calendar meetings. It reads the calendars of the Google accounts you connect and rings a real alarm — full screen over the lock screen, sound playing until you turn it off — at the exact start time of every meeting that has a reminder on it.
The reminder is the switch. If a meeting has one, you get an alarm. Remove it, and the alarm disappears. There is nothing to configure per event.
What it skips
- All-day events
- Cancelled meetings
- Invitations you have not accepted
- Meetings without a reminder
Why it needs calendar access
To ring at the right minute the app has to know when a meeting starts and whether it has a reminder.
It requests read-only calendar access (calendar.readonly) and uses it for nothing else.
Calendar data is read on the device and is never sent anywhere: the app has no server of its own, no
analytics and no advertising. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Staying in sync
Edits made in Google Calendar on the web are picked up through the Google Calendar API, so a change is visible immediately instead of waiting for the device calendar to catch up. The app re-reads the calendar every 15 minutes in the background, and once more right before an alarm is due — so a meeting whose reminder you removed an hour ago will not wake you.
